"You take the blue pill… the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.

You take the red pill… you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes."

- Morpheus

<p2>Brief Brief:</p2>

The term ‘The RED Pill’ was popularized in science fiction culture via the 1999 film “The Matrix”. In the movie, the main character Neo is offered the choice between a red pill and a blue pill, with the red pill leading to his "escape" from the Matrix, a fictional computer-generated world, while the blue pill would allow him to remain in the world with no knowledge that anything is wrong.

<p2>Detailed Discourse:</p2>

In the first film of the Matrix trilogy, Thomas A. Anderson, a hacker of the alias "Neo" hears rumours of "The Matrix" and a mysterious man named "Morpheus". Neo spends his nights at the computer trying to discover the secret of The Matrix. Eventually he is introduced to Morpheus by another hacker called "Trinity". Morpheus alludes to the fact that the reality that Neo is accustomed to is a lie and that Morpheus can show him the truth. He is asked to make a choice between two pills, red and blue. The blue pill will cause him to "wake up in his bed and believe whatever [he wants] to believe." He is told that if he takes the red pill, however, he will "stay in Wonderland" and Morpheus will "show [him] how deep the rabbit hole goes". Neo chooses the red pill and is illuminated as to the true nature of the Matrix; a detailed simulation of Earth circa 1999, which keeps the inhabitants, whose physical bodies are stored in massive power plan complacent in a mental prison, in order to convert their heat and bioelectrical energy into power for machine consumption.

<p2>Bottom line:</p2>

Seek More. Seek Red.

<p2>Brief Brief:</p2>

Astrologically SUN in its RED glory denotes the Soul of a person.

Hanuman as a kid (means uncontrolled prana) tried to gulp the RED SUN (soul) and keep the whole body in darkness of ignorance.

<p2>Detailed Discourse:</p2>

Since birth Hanuman proved to be such a voracious eater that is mother was beyond herself feeding him. In his unsatisfying hunger for more, Hanuman looked towards the source of unquenchable energy – the RED SUN – to satisfy his hunger.

He attempted to eat the sun, however his attempt foiled by Indra, the king of the Gods, who threw his thunderbolt at the tremendous baby to discourage him from devouring the only source of light to the earth. This created a slight commotion in the heavens with Vayu coming to the rescue of his son but the gods intervened and persuaded Indra to apologize to Vayu.

Peace returned and the gormandizing baby was returned to the safe folds of his mother while Surya, the SUN god, was spared a horrible fate. Surya however cursed Hanuman and said "Since you behaved like a Monkey, may you look like one."

Now most of Indian mythological stories are actually symbolic and have deeper meanings behind it. Hanuman is Pavanputra, the son of Vayu (air) which is also called Prana. Hence Hanuman is ansh (a part of) of Prana entering our body and working there. This prana is uncontrolled and hungry in its infant stage…here infant means the prana of most people, who are not trying to control their hunger for their desires.

Astrologically RED SUN denotes “Soul of a Person”… hence Hanuman as a kid (symbolizing uncontrolled prana)….tries to gulp the SUN (soul) and eventually kept the whole body in darkness of ignorance.

Indra is the Chief of gods. Here Gods are our Indriyas (Our Senses) and their chief is Mind. So Indira or our Mind then tries to control Prana and stops it from gulping the Sun because this will bring darkness of ignorance.

The point is that RED has an attraction which pulls one and all and is symbolic of the Soul within us; lack of which can put us into darkness (ignorance)

<p2>Bottom line:</p2>

Seek More. Seek Red.

During the early ninties Eveready batteries, a flagship brand of BM Khaitan group, created ripples in the market by its "Give me Red" campaign.

<p2>Detailed Discourse:</p2>

During the early ninties Eveready batteries, a flagship brand of BM Khaitan group, created ripples in the market by its "Give me Red" campaign. The campaign changed the way batteries are perceived and the campaign was a hit among the target audience.

The ad highlighted the colour "Red" and for the next 16 years "Red" was the central point in the brand campaign.

The Give me Red campaign gave an instant recognition for the brand. The rationale was the popularity of walkmans and portable music players which created a new market for batteries.

After the campaign, portable batteries were viewed as not just another use and throw product.

If you had Eveready, you got more.

<p2>Bottom line:</p2>

Seek More. Seek Red.

Red has more personal associations than any other colour. Recognized as a stimulant red is inherently exciting and the amount of RED is directly related to the level of energy perceived.

Red draws attention and a keen use of red as an accent can immediately focus attention on a particular element. How the colour red affects us mentally and physically:

 - Increases enthusiasm

 - Stimulates energy

 - Encourages action and confidence

<p2>Brief Brief:</p2>

Traditionally it is a dot of Red color applied in the center of the forehead close to the eyebrows, but it is also the seat of “concealed wisdom”

<p2>Detailed Discourse:</p2>

A bindi (from Sanskrit bindu, meaning “a drop, small particle, dot”) is a forehead decoration worn in South Asia (particularly India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Mauritius) and Southeast Asia.

Traditionally, the area between the eyebrows (where the bindi is placed) is said to be the sixth chakra, ajna, the seat of “concealed wisdom”. According to followers of Hinduism, this chakra is the exit point for kundalini energy. The bindi is said to retain energy and strengthen concentration. It is also said to protect against demons or bad luck. The bindi also represents the third eye.

Red represents honour, love and prosperity hence was worn traditionally by women to symbolize this.

The red bindi has multiple meanings which are all valid at the same time. This is also a spiritual symbol.

- By one simple interpretation it is a cosmetic mark used to enhance beauty.

- In meditation, this very spot between the eyebrows (Bhrumadhya) is where one focusses his/her sight, so that it helps concentration. Most images of Buddha or Hindu divinites in meditative pose with their eyes nearly closed show the gaze focussed between eyebrows (other spot being the tip of the nose – naasikagra).

- The encyclopedic dictionary of Yoga informs that this ‘Ajna Chakra’ is also called as the ‘Third eye’. This center is connected with the sacred syllable ‘Om’ and presiding it is ‘ParaaShiva’. After activation of this center, the aspirant overcomes ‘Ahamkar’ (ego or sense of individuality), the last hurdle on the path of spirituality.

<p2>Bottom line:</p2>

Seek More. Seek Red.

The Colour Red has positive significance is almost all cultures of the world.

<p2>Detailed Discourse:</p2>

Red has different meaning around the globe:

- Red represents beauty in many languages and cultures, including Russia.

- In Chinese culture, colours corresponded with the five primary elements, the directions and the four seasons. Red was associated with fire, south, and summer.

- In Japan, the colour red is associated closely with a few deities in Shinto and Buddhist traditions, so statues of these deities are often decked in red clothing or painted red. Mark Schumacher has a page on his site the goes into depth on the Colour Red in Japanese Mythology.

- In Sweden, Falun red (red based on the pigment from the Falun mine) was reserved for the privileged class.

- In China, red is associated with good luck and fortune.

- In Greece, Easter eggs are dyed red and the Greek expression "piase kokkino" ("touch red") is said when two people say the same thing at the same time. It is believed that such an occurrence is an omen that the two will have an argument in the future, which can only be broken when the two touch the closest thing that is red.

- In Jamaica, a popular slang term for someone who is under the influence or drunk is "red."

- In England, red phone booths and red double decker buses are national icons. Standard British pillar boxes (mail boxes) have been painted red since 1874.

- In India, a red mark on the forehead is said to bring good luck.

- To the Hindu, red symbolizes joy, life, energy, and creativity.

- Islamic, Hindu, and Chinese brides traditionally wear red.

- Cochineal red, discovered by the Aztecs, was made using the female cochineal beetle. A pound of water-soluble extract required about a million insects. For the Aztecs, Indian red dye was considered more valuable than gold! However, it was the Spaniards who introduced the crimson colour of Cochineal red to Europe in the 1500s.

- In Aztec culture, red was connected with blood.

- Red amulets were worn in many cultures to prolong life.

- In Singapore, the colour red traditionally symbolizes joy.

- Chinese New Year is celebrated by wearing red clothing and decorating the house with red. Red envelopes with "luck money" are given to unmarried children to bring good fortune to them for the rest of the year.

- Red symbolizes feast days of martyrs in the Catholic church.

- In Israel, kosher clothing stores banned the colour red and sell only loose-fitting apparel for women.

- The belief in the protective power of the colour red can be traced back to the old Chinese folklore of the Nian, a man-eating beast of ancient China who used to feed on human flesh. Discovering that the creature abhorred loud noises and the colour red, the people made liberal use of the colour not only in their firecrackers, but also in home decorations and clothing to protect themselves from the Nian.

<p2>Bottom line:</p2>

Seek More. Seek Red.

<p2>Brief Brief:</p2>

Red is used as a symbol of courage and sacrifice, as in blood spilt in sacrifice or courage in the face of lethal danger.

<p2>Detailed Discourse:</p2>

Examples of this are found in the flags of many nations, as well as in the novels like The Red Badge of Courage, in which a soldier in the American Civil War discovers the meaning of courage.

In Christianity, red is the liturgical colour for the feast of martyrs, representing the blood of those who suffered death for their faith. It is sometimes used as the liturgical colour for Holy Week including Palm Sunday and Good Friday, although this is a modern (20th century) development.

It is also the liturgical colour used to commemorate the Holy Spirit (for this reason it is worn at Pentecost and during Confirmation Masses).

Because of its association with martyrdom and the Spirit, it is also the colour used to commemorate the Apostles (except for the Apostle St. John, who was not martyred, where white is used), and as such, it is used to commemorate Bishops, who are the successors of the Apostles (for this reason, when Funeral Masses are held for Bishops, Cardinals, or Popes, instead of the white that would ordinarily be used, red is used).

In Roman mythology red is associated with the god of war, Mars. A Roman general receiving a triumph had his entire body painted red in honour of his achievement.

Red was also the traditional colour of the uniforms worn by the British Army, and such British soldiers were often known as Redcoats.

The phrase "red-blooded" describes someone who is audacious, robust, or virile.

In Edward de Bono’s book Six Thinking Hats a red hat represents feelings and emotions.

<p2>Bottom line:</p2>

Seek More. Seek Red.
